This is a pleasure cruise with plenty of time for snorkeling, swimming, reading, relaxing in a hammock on deck, exploring deserted beaches and quaint towns. Captain is a 45 yo writer and wildlife biologist who has sailed his whole life. Eat healthy, drink moderately, no drugs. Sailboat is a great condition 36 foot ketch. Sailing experience nice but not required. Crew can have their own private cabin. BRITISH COLUMBIA WILDERNESS. There’s a number of sailing trips to forests of southwest BC I’d make engineless whenever safely practicable. ENSENADA => LA PAZ. I'm looking for 2-3 crew members to help sail my 56 foot Samson C-Breeze ketch, Victory, from Ensenada, Mexico to La Paz in early to mid March. The Victory is a large, comfortable boat and a good sailor. We'll make three legs, first from Ensenada to Abreojos, then from Abreojos to Magalena Bay and finally from Mag Bay to La Paz. This will entail a lot of overnight sailing. Bring your foul weather gear and warm clothing, it can get cold at night. We will put on a big beach party for the fishermen at Abreojos, so come ready to help. I will pay all of the boat costs, but ask you to share the food/drink expenses. Sorry, but no smokers. TRINIDAD => BRAZIL Starting second half of February 2013. Going to to Brazil on a 38 ft. catamaran. Its an interesting route and a major challenge since its against currents and trade winds. Not good for sea sickness. For the less experienced crew there will be advanced seamanship classes. Some basic experience is desirable though, as also good swimming, good health and able to stand night watches. This is a strictly non-paid opportunity. While cruising all consumables are shared equally. HAWAII => SOUTH PACIFIC. I will be departing from Hawaii in the spring of 2013 to the South Pacific. The route has not been completely determined but will emphasize island groups away from the beaten path or "milk run". The general area would be a triangle between Tokelau, Micronesia and the Solomons. This area has a handful of islands where there is still traditional Polynesian culture with a minimal amount of westernization. Final destination is Australia or the Marshalls. Boat and skipper finished a five year circumnavigation in 2011 and for 2012 sailed a southern route through the South Pacific (Pitcairn, Australs) looping back to Hawaii from Fiji. Boat is a 35 foot monohull. Looking for one crew person, share expenses. CARIBBEAN. Another Caribbean cruising season in the windward and leeward islands, Grenada to St Martin is about to begin. I am a 63 yo American. Both my boat, a 38 foot catamaran, and I have circumnavigated, together as I recall. I offer spaces of one week to six months for expense sharing crew, it is cheap but not free, singles or a couple, December 2011 to July 2012. I try to put only one person per cabin, unless you are a couple. The season will be broken into five two week segments of island hopping, each separated by a week or two of cruising that island and land touring. The rest of the season is cruising with limited schedules in the windward and leeward islands. This is a cruising boat, you do not need to know how to sail, and will be shown how to do anything you wish to learn. We have lots of time to explore the islands and the warm water around them. SCANDINAVIA. The 2012 sailing season in the Baltic has come to a close for Ta Hi. We had a marvellous season, especially up north (Gulf of Bothnia) on the High Coast.The 2013 season, start 15th May, will see us sail up the west coast of Sweden and over to the south coast of Norway and up towards Bergen. I have allowed 4 - 6 weeks for this sail. I require a competent crew to assist me, mainly day sails with the occasionally overnighter when weather is favourable. You will be required for a minimum of 4 weeks and maximum 6 weeks. You should be able to helm at a given course and assist when entering/leaving the marina/harbour. I do not require any marine/sail certification. You will be required to contribute Euro 10/day + your own transportation to/from the yacht. I will provide good meals, all related cost for the yacht including fuel and marina/harbour fee's. The yacht is a well fitted out Mariner 36 masthead sloop, new sails, Furling, autopilot, DSC VHF, AIS and fridge. I am a retired Australian/Swedish national. GREEK ISLANDS=>CARIBEAN (RETURN) S/Y Corrina is looking for two willing female crew to join the two owners on a round trip from the Med to the Caribbean and back again. We are a very relaxed boat, just finished sailing the med for the summer season. Now we will sail back to the Caribbean for winter, touring the islands. We will return to the Med in summer 2013. Corrina is a very strong 14mt J Thomas ketch. there is a large open deck for sunbathing, modern shower and toilets. Cabin space is limited so crew will have to share. During the Atlantic crossing there will be nudity on board as washing clothes is a waste of water. So be aware of this if applying to join us. GRENADA=>BRAZIL Starting as soonest possible , not fixed date yet. We are a couple that wants to sail/motor from Grenada or Trinidad to Brazil or even Uruguay. Its an interesting route and a major challenge since its against currents and trade winds. Some basic experience is necessary , as also open sea swimming, good health and able to stand night watches. The ones who are interested should be able to join us as soonest and afford their own expenses (food, personal stuff , air tickets etc... ) This is not a paid position so "pro sailors" please dont apply.
