Canon de la Huasteca
On the western edge of Monterrey, 16 km from the center, this canyon is 300 meters deep and has some dramatic rock formations. You get there by driving west on Morones Prieto until you enter the park.
Not pictured here is the town of Santa Catarina at the north end of the canyon. It celebrates the festival of the Virgen de San Juan de Los Lagos with dances and fireworks from August 10 to 15.
